This is a COMPLETELY FREE alternative to Microsoft's Office Suite. It may not have all the "bells and whistles" that MS Office has, although .... it has (as I just said .... NO PRICE TAG .
Surrrrrrrrrrrrrrre some say "it take an extra 5 seconds to load my word document " ... I ask you .. is that few extra SECONDS really worth a few hundred dollars? " 

NOTE ABOUT OFFICE 2007: I have recently seen that MS office 2007 Documents (say a document created in Word 2007) IS NOT compatible with Prior versions of MS Office WITHOUT downloading an extra "reader " for the prior version.

I am sure there will be people who have Microsoft Office 2007 at work and are trying Open Office at home and run into the "Oh I cant open this word Document (the one created in MS Office 2007) ... Open Office stinks !"... Well I am guessing their will be a similar converter for modern OO's and for future versions, the support for MS Office 2007 documents will be built right in.

To my knowledge, Open Office can read and write (athough it will suggest you use open office's format) any of the MS Office formats prior (as of now anyway... support for reading and writing may be added to future versions of O.Office) to Microsoft Office 2007.

I HAVE PERSONALLY tried creating a document in Writer ("Word") , Calc ("Excel"), and although you have to do a little work "importing" ... one in Base ("Access") and have had no trouble opening them in MS office (version 2000) or visa-versa.

I know there are alot, however, I found this one (Thanks to "PCWorld" Magazine) ... basically its a print driver for almost every (i haven't found one yet it doesn't work on) type of file that is printable ... instead of being sent to a printer, it sends the file to the printer spool and creates a PDF file ...

There ARE other Freeware printer driver/PDF Creator Alternatives, however you can NOT EDIT a PDF ... you can say edit a ...excel file (just an example) and re-send it to PrimoPDF to reflect updates...
